JOLENE NEIS: MID-WEST FAMILY BROADCASTING

I met a vivacious woman at an RAB Conference in New Orleans about 8 years ago; about a month ago I met her again at Lake Geneva to participate in a Mid-West Family Broadcasting Sales Training Conference. The same passion, the same spirit, and love for all her colleagues was still present and just as impressive as the first time I met her.

DeForest - Jolene K. Neis age 44, died on Thursday, March 12, 2009 in a Madison hospital following complications from a brain aneurysm. She was born on August 31, 1964 in Madison the daughter of Joseph and Judith (Scholastic) Halve. She graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1982. She was currently the CFO of Midwest Family Broadcast Group and began her career there in 1991. She had many hobbies including boating and shopping for purses. She was a member of the Wisconsin Broadcasting Association, Dane County Humane Society, and the United Way. She married Jeff Neis on August 7, 1992 at Okee on Lake Wisconsin. In addition to her husband Jeff she is survived by 3 children; Chelsea (Allan) Teed of Madison, Zachary Arnold and Erik Neis of Deforest. She is also survived by her mother, Judith (Jack) Olson of Sun Prairie, father, Joseph Halve, a sister, Rae (David) Crawford of Visalia, CA, a nephew Aubrey Crawford and several cousins and countless friends. Also surviving are her 4 legged companions; Jacob Chance, Molly Murphy, Buck & Tiger.

Funeral services will be held at the RYAN Funeral Home, 6924 Lake Rd in De Forest. On Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Scott Carlson will officiate. Entombment will be at the Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Ryan Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 from 4-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the United Way of Dane County, 2059 Atwood Ave. #1, Madison, WI 53704.

I'm positive all your friends and family will miss you dearly Jolene but none-the-less the radio industry as a gaping hole in it as well.

Very warmest regards to your family, your friends, and colleagues at Mid-West Family Broadcasting,

Go in peace Jolene.
