We know that out of our hundreds of member stations, thousands of proposals and campaigns, sales tips, ideas, commercials are being successfully run each week: here's where we'd like to hear about and share these stories and ideas with other stations, to work together to make the industry as strong as possible.

If you've run a campaign - for any kind of advertiser - that has worked, let us know.

If you've created a commercial that got a great response, let us know.

If you came up with a programing idea that sold locally and got results, let us know.

If you have a tip on managing sales teams, getting the best out of sellers or handling your sales manager - let us know.

The more we can share our ideas and resources, the better of we'll all be and the better prepared we'll be to survive and prosper through the next few quarters.

Submissions we receive will be posted up to this page. Users will also get a chance to leave comments as well. (For a full set of legal stuff about submitting your ideas / content, click here)

Thanking Customers by Doug Edge

In this time of budget slashing it is easy to cut back on Christmas gifts for customers this Holiday Season. Don’t do it! If anything we need to thank our loyal customers even more this year. Consider how many thousands of dollars a customer spends with you. Is it worth a $30 fruit basket, box of chocolates or holiday flower arrangement? The answer is yes.

Some stations are able to trade for items to give customers during the Holidays. Others budget for some type of gift during the Christmas season. Whatever the case might be use this opportunity to put your station brand in front of the client. Station logo pens, notepads, etc.. should accompany your fruit basket, chocolates or flowers. We found a local winery that agreed to trade cases of wine and print our stations logos on the wine labels. We have a different flavor of wine for each station logo in our group. Customers remember who gave them the wine. At least until it is all consumed.

Don’t buy generic Christmas cards either. There are many local printers that will trade making you a custom card with your station(s) logo on it. There are also many online printers that make it easy for you to upload your logo into a card making them more unique and less expensive than buying generic store bought ones. It is all about marketing and branding… you know the businesses we are in.
